We’re looking for reliable, hands-on volunteers to join our hardworking team at the warehouse in Leigh Sinton, where hundreds of items are generously donated to St Richard’s Hospice every week – and where behind the scenes our dedicated volunteers sort, check, pack, and prepare donations for sale in our shops and online, helping us raise vital funds for patient care.
What’s involved?
There are a variety of roles available at the warehouse. You could be accepting and organising new donations, sorting and checking homewares, clothing, books and more, preparing and packing goods safely so they’re ready for our drivers to deliver to the shops, packing items for our online store, helping us keep the warehouse tidy and organised, rotating stock by season, sorting clothing for rag and more.
All enquiring volunteers are invited to come along to the warehouse to meet the team and find out more about the variety of duties available and how the warehouse operates daily. This is an opportunity for you to see the warehouse, for us to learn more about your skills and interests, and answer any question you may have about volunteering.
This role could be a great fit for you, if you are:
- Looking for an active volunteer role with practical, hands-on tasks and duties
- Reliable, organised and efficient, and able to follow donations processes and procedures
- Able to follow health and safety guidance, including manual handling (training is provided)
- Comfortable working as part of a friendly, supportive team
- Patient and calm under pressure – the warehouse is a busy place
- Adaptable, and mindful of the needs of the warehouse, our shops and St Richard’s Hospice.
