Volunteering

Volunteer with us

There are many ways to get involved as a volunteer at St Richard’s Hospice. Whether you choose to give your time at the hospice, shops, warehouse or supporting fundraising events and activities, your contribution will make a huge difference to the care we provide to patients and their families.

To learn more about our current volunteering opportunities and become a valued member of our incredible team, click on the below roles or locations that interest you.

At the hospice

We offer a wide range of volunteer roles at the hospice. Because of the sensitive nature of our work, all hospice-based volunteers are warmly invited to an interview or a shadowing shift, require references and will be asked to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Please see below for our current opportunities at the hospice:

At the shops

Retail volunteers are essential to our shops and the work of St Richard’s. You could be welcoming customers and supporting on the tills, sorting donations, pricing items for sale, and creating attractive displays and merchandising our shop shelves.

Every volunteer shift helps turn generous donations into vital funds that support local hospice care. Volunteering in our shops is also a wonderful way to connect with friendly, like minded people and make new friends, build confidence and practical retail skills, and gain experience that can help you move into paid employment.

If you’d like to join our retail team, we’d love to hear from you. Please see below for current opportunities at our shops:
