The Memory Tree is a special place of remembrance at St Richard’s Hospice. A place to cherish a loved one, celebrate their life, and keep precious memories alive.
While the tree honours those who have died, it is also a place of connection and comfort. Each engraved leaf tells a story, reflecting the love, laughter and good times shared.
A place to remember
Our stunning Memory Tree stands proudly in the reception area of the hospice. It offers a quiet moment of reflection for families, friends, volunteers, patients and visitors alike.
The tree is adorned with bronze, silver and gold leaves, each individually engraved with the name of someone special. Together, these leaves form a lasting tribute and a shared space of remembrance.
Keeping my dad’s memory alive
“I got married in 2019, and at the time my dad, Nigel, was determined to walk me down the aisle even though he’d only recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
“On the day, as a way of saying thank you for all the incredible support we received from St Richard’s, we chose to sponsor a leaf on the Memory Tree instead of giving out wedding favours.
“Just six weeks after my wedding, my dad sadly died.
“The following year, when it was time to renew our leaf, there was no hesitation. It felt strange not having a permanent place to remember him. As a family, we renewed it and we’ve done so every year for the last seven years.
“Having a leaf on the Memory Tree means we’re keeping my dad’s memory alive together. My stepmum Jane volunteers at the hospice, and each week she can visit the leaf, say hello to him, and remember all the happy times they shared.”

Bronze Leaf – £120 a year
Silver Leaf – £240 a year
Gold Leaf – £360 a year
There is an option to give monthly for all leaves (bronze, silver and gold). If you would prefer this option, please call our team on 01905 958262.
As part of your dedication, you will be invited to a relaxed afternoon celebration of remembrance. You’ll have time and space to reflect and celebrate the memories you treasure. Installations are quarterly, and during your visit, you’ll be able to enjoy tea, coffee and cake.
Leaves will last for 12 months, with the option to renew each year. Remembering loved ones, leaf by leaf.
