The Advice and Guidance Service is a telephone line staffed by senior staff nurses, hospice support coordinators and admin support who provide an entry point for all professional and self-referrals to the hospice.
The line is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, or between 8am and 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. You can access this via the main hospice number 01905 763963. Choose option one for care and support.
Outside these hours, your call will be diverted to our In-patient Unit, where a member of the team can help with your enquiry.
The Advice and Guidance team provide:
- specialist advice and support for patients and their families, and signpost them to other appropriate services to support patients’ needs
- telephone support and follow-up for current St Richard’s Hospice at Home patients
- support and advice regarding admissions to our In-patient Unit (IPU)
A senior clinical nurse specialist (CNS) supports the team to advise professionals on prescribing, or for support with patients who have complex palliative care needs.
