Join the friendly team at Malvern Link Bookshop, where every sale helps support patients and their loved ones. This shop has between 8,000 to 10,000 quality items, including books, DVDs, CDs and vinyl. Whether you’re serving customers on the till or helping us to sort donations, you’ll play an important part in keeping our bookshop running smoothly, providing great customer service and helping raise funds for hospice care, one book at a time.
What’s involved?
- Welcoming and serving customers
- Sorting and preparing donations for sale, including labelling and pricing
- Merchandising and helping us to create eye-catching window and bookshop displays
- Selling raffle tickets (when the raffle is open) to help raise funds
- Processing and recording donations according to hospice policy, helping to ensure our donated items meet our quality standards
- Keeping the shop tidy, clean and inviting.
This role could be a great fit for you, if you are:
- Friendly and approachable
- A team player, proactive and willing to learn from others
- Happy to learn how to use the till and promote Gift Aid to help us with sales (training is provided)
- Someone who enjoys books and media, who can bring their knowledge to the role to help customers find what they’re looking for
- Keen to provide great customer service
- Adaptable and mindful of the needs of the shop and St Richard’s Hospice.
When is help needed: The team are currently looking for a volunteer to support on Sundays, 1pm to 4pm.
