GOLFERS can enjoy a day of friendly competition on the fairway to raise funds for hospice care this spring.
The St Richard’s Hospice Spring Golf Day is set to take place on Friday, April 11, at The Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern.
Teams of four will play 18 holes under Stableford Rules, with the best two scores counting towards the final tally.
The day’s golfing will be followed by a two-course dinner, a prize giving ceremony, silent auction and raffle.
Ria Simons, Corporate Fundraising Lead at St Richard’s, said: “We’re delighted to be holding our Golf Day in the beautiful surroundings of The Worcestershire once again.
“The event is always a fun day out with friendly competition. We will award prizes for the first three teams, nearest the pin, longest drive, and a twos competition.
“Funds raised by our golf day events help us continue our free, specialist care to patients and the people important to them.”
On arrival, teams will be served bacon rolls, tea and coffee. Tee off times will start from around 10am.
The hospice’s Spring Golf Day is sponsored by AA Salt, Hallmark Whatley Hulme, and Whiting Landscape. The three businesses are also sponsoring the hospice’s Golf Day on Thursday, 11 September.
Andy Pascoe, Commercial Director at AA Salt, said: “AA Salt are long term supporters of St Richard’s and its Golf Day is a particularly fun event that allows us to enjoy the company of the hospice’s dedicated sponsors and new friends side-by-side.
“We would highly recommend new supporters to come along and play alongside some of the best and worst golfing talent in the UK.
“Our MD Ben Tanner has been practising in his kitchen for months and is confident of a clean sweep. All reasonable wagers accepted on the day with profits going to this very worthy cause.”
Julian Powell, Business Director at Hallmark Whatley Hulme, said: “Having supported this event for more than two decades, we are proud to continue to sponsor the hospice’s Golf Days.
“It is always a fantastic day of friendly competition, while raising much-needed funds for the hospice’s care.
“We are delighted to continue our support for St Richard’s and the work its teams do to support patients and families across our community.”
Jon Murphy, a Director at Whiting Landscape, said: “The hospice’s Golf Day is always a highlight in our team’s calendar, and we look forward to a day with friends, clients and colleagues in the spring sunshine.
“Sponsoring such a great event is our way of showing appreciation for all the amazing work St Richard’s does, and we’re proud to have supported the Golf Day for six years.”
