A MEN’S fashion pop-up shop threw open its doors on Friday (1 Nov) raising funds for a Worcestershire hospice.
St Richard’s Hospice welcomed crowds of customers to The Wardrobe – the charity’s first menswear shop – in Chapel Walk, Crowngate Shopping Centre, Worcester.
Shoppers browsed and bought from a range of quality clothing and accessories to suit a range of tastes and styles, including sportswear, casualwear, formalwear and more.
Dan Corns, Commercial Director at St Richard’s, said: “We were delighted to see so many customers and have great feedback on the quality and range of pre-loved items.
“Male customers said they liked coming into a shop dedicated just to men’s clothing as they didn’t always find what they were looking for in general charity shops. They felt more relaxed browsing in The Wardrobe.”
Mr Corns added: “The shop showcases the amazing menswear donated to St Richard’s. We have new stock arriving each week, so there’s lots of choice and shoppers can always ask us if they are on the look-out for something special.
“Whether you’re browsing for yourself or for a gift in the run-up to Christmas, we’re encouraging shoppers to buy from us for sustainable, second-hand style which helps hospice care.”
The Wardrobe will be open until the end of January 2025, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
Proceeds raised by the shop will help St Richard’s continue to fund its free care to patients with an illness which cannot be cured, their families and bereaved people across Worcestershire.
If you would like to donate good quality, saleable menswear please take your items in a bag labelled ‘menswear pop-up shop’ to any St Richard’s shop or warehouse during opening hours. Opening hours are listed online:www.strichards.org.uk/our-shops
The hospice is also looking for volunteers to help in the shop with duties including customer service, preparing donations for sale, and serving on the till.

It will cost in the region of £12m to run the hospice this year, which includes patient care and all the necessary support services.
