This 2 day course is designed for senior healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care.
Course Lead: Sue Thurston
Originally developed by the National Cancer Action Team, the programme is transferable into other areas of care where advanced levels of communication skills are needed to initiate complex conversations and when breaking bad news.
In this in-depth, two-day course at St Richard’s Hospice you’ll develop your skills for communicating challenging and complex information in a clinical setting.
The session will be led by Sue Thurston, a St Richard’s Clinical Nurse Specialist with a wealth of experience in this field, and is designed for senior healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care.
You’ll take part in practical exercises with a professional actor, allowing you to hone your skills and build your confidence.
Sessions are limited to just five attendees, to create a truly personalised and in-depth learning experience.
The cost of the course includes lunch, and we will be in touch before the event for your dietary requirements.
St Richard’s Hospice is a charity based in Worcester within easy reach of junctions six and seven of the M5. It is situated in a beautiful building and grounds.
Course Times: 8:00am – 5:30pm, Thursday 10th and Friday 11th July 2025.
Funds raised by the cost of this course help St Richard’s continue its free hospice care for patients, their loved ones and bereaved people.
